How has the pandemic changed shopping habits?

The COVID-19 pandemic had an unfortunate effect on several industries. It changed the paradigm of “the normal”. What we call today- “the new normal,” has forcefully emerged with fresh social rules. From health and diet patterns to the shopping ones, everything has undergone significant changes. Some for the good, some for the bad, the pandemic has shifted the variables in consumer behaviour across the globe. E-commerce is the rising star, shining brighter by the day.

A major chunk of overall purchase is now being done online. There is fear of being under a roof with many others in a departmental store and touching unknown items or getting exposed to people. Not just E-commerce, the demand of Over the Top (OTT) platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime has also seen a significant surge during the pandemic. And why not? It is convenient for people to watch their favourite shows in their living room sofas without risking their health by stepping inside movie halls.
