Wesfarmers says it is seeing significant demand growth in its Bunnings and Officeworks businesses as customers continue to spend more time at home, amid coronavirus restrictions. Sales growth at Bunnings is up 19.2 per cent in the second half of the financial year, compared to 5.8 per cent in the first half.

A regulation change to be decided this week could see thousands of Australia Post workers lose their jobs – and mail delivery times blow out across the country for customers. According to the Communications, Electrical and Plumbing Union of Australia (CEPU), Australia Post is pursuing a regulation change which would pave the way for a drastic overhaul of the organization.

Biotechnology giant CSL has bought Canadian clinical-stage biotechnology company Vitaeris for its research into treating the leading cause of rejection for transplanted kidneys. CSL has worked with Vitaeris since 2017 on the phase III program to investigate how an antibody called clazakizumab treats a naturally-occurring inflammatory gene, which causes the body to reject many transplanted kidneys.
