Highlights
- Astral Resources reports strong gold assay results from Kamperman drilling.
- High-grade zones uncovered, with notable 6 meters at 12.8 g/t gold.
- Infill drilling to continue at Mandilla with visible gold seen in early samples.
Astral Resources NL (ASX:AAR) has revealed promising assay results from its recent drilling at the Kamperman Deposit within the Feysville Gold Project, located approximately 14 kilometers south of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. These results come from the final 11 holes of an extensive reverse circulation (RC) drilling program, which totaled 31 holes across 3,834 meters. The high-grade intersections have reinforced the potential of the resource, particularly in Kamperman’s southern zone.
The RC drilling focused on infill and extensional tests, yielding multiple high-grade intersections. A notable intercept was discovered in hole FRC385, which revealed 6 meters at 12.8 g/t gold from 76 meters depth, including a standout 1 meter at 63.4 g/t gold from 77 meters. This discovery, along with previous assays in the area, suggests the potential for a high-grade gold zone within the southern section of the deposit.
Further highlights from these final 11 holes include:
- 33 meters at 3.75 g/t gold from 58 meters, including a high-grade interval of 3 meters at 14.8 g/t from 75 meters,
- 10 meters at 1.63 g/t from 131 meters and 22 meters at 5.21 g/t from 149 meters, with notable sections of 2 meters at 30.9 g/t from 164 meters and 2 meters at 12.2 g/t from 168 meters, and
- 22 meters at 4.44 g/t from 105 meters, including 2 meters at 25.9 g/t from 121 meters.
These assays were not part of the initial mineral resource estimate (MRE) for Kamperman, which reported a maiden estimate of 2 million tonnes at 1.3 g/t gold for 83,800 ounces. The encouraging results suggest that further drilling could lead to growth in Kamperman’s resource base, enhancing its value as a potential satellite ore source for the nearby Mandilla Gold Project.
With drilling at Kamperman completed, the RC drill rig has been relocated to the Mandilla Gold Project, where infill drilling continues. A diamond drilling program has also commenced at Mandilla’s Theia deposit, with initial logging observations revealing visible occurrences of gold. Additional assays from this program are anticipated in early 2025, with Astral considering the addition of a second diamond drill rig to expedite progress at Theia.
This update marks a strong finish for Astral’s Feysville drilling program, with early indicators of significant mineralization at both Kamperman and Mandilla positioning these projects favorably for future exploration and development.
