- $4.4M repeat contract secured for AI-driven defence tech
- Strengthens role in NATO Tempest production chain
- Launches new $2.6M industrial safety AI platform in Italy
Vection Technologies (ASX:VR1) has solidified its standing within the global defence sector by securing a repeat contract worth $4.4 million from a top-tier defence contractor. This deal follows a $1 million proof-of-concept initiated earlier this year, with expectations now rising for a potential full-scale $30 million engagement by 2030.
The contract centres around the deployment of Vection’s proprietary INTEGRATEDXR platform—an advanced solution that combines secure ICT infrastructure with artificial intelligence-powered extended reality (XR). Approximately $3.8 million from the current order is set to be recognised in the 2025 financial year, with the remainder expected over the next twelve months.
Deepening NATO Integration
This strategic win has reinforced Vection’s growing presence in NATO’s authorised Tempest production chain. The INTEGRATEDXR solution is engineered for mission-critical applications that demand real-time, data-driven operational capabilities. Its success in defence-grade environments signals trust and long-term potential with one of the world’s largest military technology stakeholders.
With the backdrop of increasing global instability, demand is accelerating for AI-enhanced XR systems capable of managing extensive and dynamic datasets for national security missions. The INTEGRATEDXR framework offers an edge by facilitating intelligent monitoring, situational awareness, and critical asset protection.
New Industrial Safety Initiative in Italy
In parallel with its defence advancements, Vection Technologies has also secured a $2.6 million deal with Italy-based Area12 Consulting to roll out the Safe-XR platform for industrial safety compliance. This initiative introduces Vection’s Algho AI software into the industrial environment, empowering users through voice-activated smart glasses that enable real-time compliance checks, guided AR workflows, and seamless remote expert support.
A key feature of Algho’s software lies in its emotional intelligence capabilities, which adjust support and assistance based on user behaviour and environmental feedback. The contract includes a perpetual licence, three years of technical support, and the delivery of tailored software and hardware.
This move into industrial automation and compliance underscores Vection’s broader ambition to influence safety management using AI and XR technologies. As regulation becomes increasingly stringent worldwide, the Safe-XR platform presents a forward-looking solution to meet evolving workplace safety standards.
While Vection Technologies (VR1) is not currently listed as an ASX 200 stock, its recent commercial milestones and expansion into both defence and industrial sectors underscore its growing impact within the Australian tech ecosystem.
