Highlights

  • Qoria collaborates with SoftBank to enhance digital wellbeing solutions in Japan.
  • Focuses on parental control and web security services for families and schools.
  • Partnership aims for launch in early 2025 to meet growing demand for web control technologies.

Qoria (ASX:QOR) has partnered with Japan’s SoftBank to deliver innovative digital wellbeing and parental control solutions to Japanese families by early 2025. This collaboration reflects the increasing demand for web control technology in Japan, especially for families and schools seeking safe online environments for children.

The agreement, executed through Qoria’s subsidiary Qustodio and SoftBank’s BBSS Corporation, combines the expertise of two leaders in the digital security space. BBSS Corporation, a subsidiary of SoftBank, is renowned for its advanced web security services, aligning seamlessly with Qustodio’s focus on providing software solutions for children’s online safety.

Qustodio’s offerings include software that allows remote configuration, enabling parents to implement safety measures for children navigating the digital world. With schools and families being primary customers, these solutions offer robust protection against inappropriate content, a concern echoed in markets like Japan and Australia, where discussions around regulating social media access for minors are gaining traction.

While Qoria primarily targets families, the company acknowledges potential applications in aged care and live-in care settings, though these remain less common. The collaboration with BBSS Corporation will enable the introduction of cutting-edge solutions tailored to Japan’s high standards of technology and security.

Viktorija Mliajeva, CEO of Qoria, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing its potential to empower families in navigating the fast-evolving digital landscape. “Partnering with BBSS allows us to bring our cutting-edge digital wellbeing solutions to Japan, a market known for its high standards of technology and security. Together, we’re committed to supporting and empowering families with the tools they need to navigate the fast-moving online world safely and responsibly,” she said.

This strategic move also underscores Qoria’s strong performance throughout 2024, with positive annual returns reflecting the growing relevance of its offerings. Previously operating as Family Zone Cyber Safety Ltd, Qoria continues to establish itself as a trusted provider of digital safety solutions, particularly at a time when web security concerns are escalating globally.

The launch of these solutions in Japan will mark an important milestone for Qoria and its subsidiary, Qustodio, as they expand their footprint in one of the world’s most technologically advanced markets.
