In a good news for investors, the Australian equities traded higher today as the benchmark index ASX 200 was up 1.93% at 6,705.80 points at 3:41 PM AEST. All eleven sectors traded in green during the intraday trading session today with the energy, financial, and information technology sectors gaining 2.66%, 2.47%, and 2.53%, respectively.

The gloomy global growth outlook, continuous rise in interest rates and recession fears have dented investors' sentiments in the past few days. In a switch from the pessimistic view, the tech-dominated Nasdaq Composite closed 3.34% higher on Friday at 11,607.62 points. Technology stocks have come under tremendous pressure due to the rising rates. But today's performance of the technology sector is a matter of relief for tech investors.
