  • Dual-system setup boosts research and development speed
  • Advanced ALD system strengthens graphene capabilities
  • Key step forward for semiconductor innovation

Adisyn (ASX:AI1) has taken a significant stride in semiconductor innovation through its subsidiary, 2D Generation, with the successful deployment of a new atomic layer deposition (ALD) system at the Jan Koum Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in Israel. While not currently part of the ASX 100 companies, this strategic initiative places Adisyn in a progressive position in the global semiconductor landscape.

The new installation complements a previously established ALD platform at the same research centre, effectively creating a dual-system configuration. This setup is designed to enable simultaneous experimentation and streamlined validation of graphene films across various materials and structures.

ALD systems are pivotal in modern chip manufacturing, applying ultra-thin atomic layers of materials critical to building next-generation electronic components. The specific model installed, the Beneq TFS 200, features advanced capabilities tailored for graphene research. These include options for plasma-based surface treatment, precise sample handling at ambient temperatures, and scalability for wafer-level processing.

Such features are instrumental in refining a proprietary low-temperature graphene deposition method. The goal is to overcome existing limitations in semiconductor interconnects, which form essential pathways for electrical signals within microchips.

The installation follows a series of infrastructure enhancements at the research facility. These included upgrades to the environmental controls and high-spec electrical systems, necessary to meet the exacting standards required by ALD research.

With both ALD systems now fully operational, 2D Generation is set to expedite the technical validation of its earlier findings while broadening its research scope. This includes testing across multiple substrates and varying operational parameters, paving the way toward a scalable and dependable graphene solution.

This advancement marks a pivotal moment for Adisyn. The precision and adaptability of the newly commissioned platform position the company to evaluate its graphene-based interconnect solutions under conditions that mirror real-world semiconductor production environments.

By aligning cutting-edge hardware with focused research objectives, Adisyn aims to unlock new levels of performance for semiconductor components—potentially influencing developments across computing, data storage, and advanced electronics.

As global interest in alternative materials like graphene continues to grow, Adisyn’s investment in infrastructure and R&D capacity strengthens its foothold in a rapidly evolving industry.
