  • Shares of four ASX-listed renewable energy stocks, Origin Energy Ltd, Genesis Energy Limited, Infratil Limited, and Contact Energy Limited, have recently garnered much attention.

As the world is moving towards sustainable environmental practices, the relevance of renewable energy companies has increased among investors. Countries across the globe have ramped up their efforts to reduce carbon emissions to control the increasing global temperature and reduce the risks posed by climate change. In the ongoing G-7 summit, which is taking place in Germany, climate change will also remain on the top agenda for discussions apart from other issues like terrorism, trade, recession etc.

In this article we will look at four ASX-listed renewable energy stocks which are grabbing the attention of investors. The four stocks are - Origin Energy Ltd (ASX:ORG), Genesis Energy Limited (ASX:GNE), Infratil Limited (ASX:IFT), and Contact Energy Limited (ASX:CEN).

Origin Energy Ltd (ASX:ORG)

The share price of Origin Energy Ltd traded 3.310% higher at AU$5.930 per share on ASX at 2:54 PM AEST today. The m-cap of the company is AU$9.88 billion. In the last 12 months, the share price of Origin Energy has gained up to 25.90%. The stock is also up 10.63% year-to-date (YTD).  

Genesis Energy Limited (ASX:GNE

Shares of Genesis Energy Limited traded 0.809% higher at AU$2.490 per share on ASX at 3 PM AEST today. Genesis Energy Limited commands a market capitalisation of AU$2.59 billion. 

The company's shares have declined by almost 19.42% in the last 12 months. On YTD, the Genesis Energy Limited share price is down 10.75%.  

 

Infratil Limited (ASX:IFT)

Infratil Limited shares were spotted trading at AU$7.200 per share on ASX at 2:53 PM AEST today. The New Zealand-based company has a market cap of AU$5.22 billion. Over the last one year, the share price of Infratil Limited has gone up by 1.84%. The stock is, however, down 6.13% on YTD.  

Contact Energy Limited (ASX:CEN

The shares of Contact Energy Limited were seen trading 3.741% lower at AU$6.690 per share on ASX at 2:45 PM AEST today. The ASX-listed New Zealand-based company has a market capitalisation of AU5.42 billion. Contact Energy's share price has fallen nearly 10.20% in the last one year. The stock has declined 12.09% on YTD.
