Highlights:

  • TechGen Metals plans to conduct geophysical surveys at the Northern Star anomaly area in Western Australia.

  • The Northern Star anomaly, part of the Mt Boggola Project, shows promising copper, gold, lead, and arsenic soil anomalies.

  • Results from recent rock chip sampling highlight significant mineralisation, including gold, copper, and iron values.

TechGen Metals (ASX:TG1) is preparing to undertake ground gravity and induced polarisation (IP) geophysical surveys at the Northern Star anomaly, located within the company’s Mt Boggola Project in Western Australia. The surveys are planned for early 2025, contingent on favourable weather conditions to ensure safe execution.

The Northern Star anomaly is characterised by a 1km by 1km area of copper, gold, lead, and arsenic soil anomalies identified in historical sampling. This discovery is significant as it may indicate the presence of valuable mineralisation in the region, particularly iron-oxide copper-gold (IOCG) style deposits.

In addition to the soil anomalies, recent rock chip sampling has returned impressive results, with peak values of 48.8 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 27.8% copper, 3.92% antimony, 3.72% lead, and 49.3% iron. These results further reinforce the potential of the Northern Star anomaly as a significant exploration target.

TechGen’s Managing Director, Ashley Hood, noted that the company’s focus in early 2025 will be on the Northern Star area, where historical widespread soil anomalism is coupled with gravity and structural faulting that may enhance the mineralisation potential. Hood emphasised the value of these findings, as they suggest a potential IOCG-style mineralisation system, which is known for its rich deposits of copper, gold, and other valuable metals.

The Mt Boggola Project spans 415 square kilometres and is situated 60km south of Paraburdoo. TechGen Metals continues to focus on exploring and developing projects within Western Australia and New South Wales, specifically targeting copper, gold, and antimony resources in prospective geological regions. The planned geophysical surveys are a key next step in advancing the exploration efforts at the Mt Boggola Project.
