Surefire Resources (ASX:SRN) has concluded its latest phase of reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Yidby Gold Project in Western Australia, reinforcing its exploration strategy within a highly mineral-rich greenstone belt. The project lies just north of a well-known regional deposit, drawing industry attention for its geological significance. This update adds momentum to the resource development activities across the region, which continues to attract attention from investors interested in gold-focused exploration companies listed outside the traditional ASX100 companies.

The drilling effort focused on extending and infilling known mineralised zones across three key areas: Yidby, Fender, and Marshall. Additionally, exploration drilling took place at the Money target, situated slightly south of the main Yidby zone, where previously identified geochemical anomalies offered scope for further assessment.

Although the original campaign blueprint included a larger number of drill holes, the current phase wrapped up earlier than expected, with several locations held back for an upcoming diamond drilling program. This shift aligns with the broader plan to support a future scoping study, aimed at evaluating the economic and technical potential of the Yidby site.

The team followed a systematic sampling approach, collecting samples at regular metre intervals. These were combined into composite samples for initial analysis. A substantial number of these composites have already been sent for laboratory testing, with assay results anticipated in the coming weeks.

The Yidby Gold Project is located within a greenstone belt recognised for its mineralisation profile and proximity to known gold deposits. These characteristics position the project as part of a wider network of exploration activity within Western Australia's prolific mining corridor.

While the company is not part of the ASX100 companies, its consistent exploration efforts and targeted fieldwork reflect a structured approach to uncovering resource value. The strategic focus on phased drilling, supported by scientific sampling and future technical evaluation, indicates a methodical effort to unlock geological insights.

As drilling transitions into the next stage with diamond core work planned, the upcoming results from the RC program will offer essential clues about the project's subsurface continuity and grade distribution—both crucial for informing the next steps in exploration planning.
