Sun Silver Ltd (ASX:SS1) has recently confirmed a significant high-grade extension at its Maverick Springs silver-gold project located in Nevada. The company’s initial drilling program has produced remarkable results, bolstering confidence in the extension’s potential.

One notable drill hole from the extension program intercepted 88.39 meters at an impressive 79.6 grams per tonne (g/t) silver equivalent (AgEq). This figure breaks down to 61.7 g/t silver and 0.21 g/t gold from a depth of 211.84 meters down-hole.

Detailed Drill Results

The intercept included a particularly notable segment of 13.72 meters at 166.65 g/t AgEq from 231.65 meters, which comprises 137.9 g/t silver and 0.34 g/t gold. Additionally, a high-grade interval of 1.52 meters at 521.52 g/t AgEq was recorded from 289.56 meters, featuring 508 g/t silver and 0.16 g/t gold.

Crucially, this drill hole remains open at depth and concluded in mineralization, which underscores the ongoing potential of the extension.

Expansion of Resource Estimates

Sun Silver’s recent results support the theory that high-grade mineralization extends to the northwest of the existing resource area at Maverick Springs. Last month, the company updated the market with an expanded resource estimate, noting a 45% increase to 423 million ounces of silver and gold with a combined average equivalent grade of 67.2 g/t.

Pending results from two additional drill holes, which also intersected high-grade mineralization beyond the existing resource, are anticipated. Preliminary pXRF readings from these holes suggest continued strong mineralization in previously uncharted areas.

Project Outlook

Gerard O’Donovan, Executive Director of Sun Silver Ltd, expressed optimism about the ongoing project developments. “We’re pleased to confirm the continuation of high-grade mineralization as we extend our drilling efforts from the recently updated Mineral Resource at the Maverick Springs Project,” O’Donovan remarked.

He continued, “These results support our hypothesis that wide, high-grade mineralization extends to the northwest of the current Resource area, providing significant momentum for the remainder of our extensional drilling program. We eagerly await further assay results, which will contribute to future Mineral Resource updates for Maverick Springs.”

The confirmation of high-grade extensions at Maverick Springs positions Sun Silver Ltd (ASX:SS1) as a notable player in the exploration sector, with promising developments on the horizon for the project.
