  • Solis Minerals confirms copper presence in initial Canyon Project sampling
  • Samples indicate copper and molybdenum mineralization along a 400-meter strike
  • Follow-up exploration planned over a 25-kilometer strike and parallel zones

Solis Minerals Ltd. (ASX-V:SLM) has confirmed significant copper and molybdenum presence in its initial sampling at the Canyon Project in Peru. Recent analysis has shown promising copper oxide mineralization, with copper oxides occurring adjacent to quartz veins and fractures within the area’s porphyritic quartz granodiorite rocks. Preliminary assays from these samples recorded copper levels of 0.53% and molybdenum concentrations of 0.023%, signaling strong early mineralization indications.

During reconnaissance sampling, Solis Minerals identified copper along joints and faults in road-cuts, with some sections extending over a discontinuous 400-meter strike. Two samples demonstrated elevated copper values, measuring at 0.74% and 0.53%, along with increased molybdenum levels of 0.07% and 0.02%, respectively. These results suggest the potential for a porphyry-style copper system, with a strong likelihood of widespread mineralization throughout the Canyon Project site.

The early findings reflect encouraging signs of copper presence and have prompted the company to advance its exploration plans. Solis Minerals has outlined a follow-up strategy that will involve extensive remote sensing, mapping, and rock geochemistry surveys. These initiatives aim to define areas with the highest mineral potential within the 25,600-hectare project area.

Executive Director Mike Parker expressed enthusiasm for the initial results, highlighting the significance of finding copper oxide evidence so early in the exploration phase. He emphasized the project's intriguing geological characteristics and shared insights into how the company is developing an understanding of the copper oxide distribution across the site. This early reconnaissance work has provided Solis Minerals with valuable data to better direct its exploration focus.

The next stage of exploration will target the entire 25-kilometer strike zone at the Canyon Project, with attention also directed to parallel corridors that could contain mineral-rich offshoots. This extensive approach reflects the company's commitment to thoroughly investigating the project’s full mineral potential, setting the stage for more detailed exploration phases.

Solis Minerals’ Canyon Project represents a significant opportunity in copper and molybdenum exploration within Peru, with ongoing work likely to bring further insights into the site’s geological promise.
