Reward Minerals (ASX:RWD) has successfully raised $2.3 million through a share placement aimed at advancing its plans for the acquisition of the Beyondie Potash Plant in Western Australia. The funds were raised by selling over 38 million shares at a price of $0.06 per share, with each share including one free attaching option. The capital raised will be directed towards an engineering scoping study focused on the company’s sulphate of potash (SOP) project, leveraging Reward's proprietary processing technologies and the acquired components of the Beyondie Potash Plant.
This acquisition marks a strategic move for Reward Minerals, positioning the company to further solidify its presence in the global SOP industry. The company’s CEO, Lorry Hughes, highlighted the significance of the Beyondie Potash Plant acquisition, noting that the plant could substantially reduce development costs for future projects. Additionally, the engineering study is expected to optimize the company's technologies, potentially enhancing efficiency in producing high-purity SOP from seawater and other sulphate-rich brines.
Reward Minerals plans to engage with global players in the solar salt, fertiliser, and desalination industries to explore potential joint ventures. These collaborations are expected to focus on expanding the reach of its SOP technology, which has gained attention for its innovative approach to potash production.
The company's flagship asset, the Carnarvon Potash Project in north-western Western Australia, remains a key part of its future plans. This project, along with the Beyondie acquisition, reinforces Reward's position in the potash industry, enabling it to explore new growth opportunities and potentially become a leader in SOP production.
Reward’s proprietary technology for recovering high-purity SOP from seawater and sulphate-rich brines continues to be a differentiating factor, setting it apart in a competitive market. The recent fundraise and Beyondie acquisition underline the company’s ambition to expand its global footprint and capitalize on the growing demand for SOP in various sectors.
