Highlights
- Significant uranium mineralization identified by Ragnar Metals at Swedish projects.
- Exploration at Viken East and Viken South reveals promising drill data and rock sampling results.
- High-grade findings at Flugen support further exploration efforts.
Ragnar Metals (ASX:RAG) has announced significant findings at its Swedish uranium and vanadium projects, reinforcing the strategic importance of its ongoing exploration efforts. The company's maiden reconnaissance sampling and historical data analysis revealed high-grade mineralization across multiple locations.
At the 39-square-kilometer Flugen project, assays showed up to 1,185 parts per million (ppm) of triuranium octoxide (U3O8), equivalent to 0.12%. Petrographic studies confirmed the presence of uraninite and other uranium-hosting minerals within metasedimentary rock formations. These findings highlight the potential of the area for further detailed exploration.
In addition to Flugen, the Viken South and Viken East projects yielded strong results through both rock sampling and historical drill data analysis. Located near major uranium-vanadium deposits such as Viken and Häggån, these projects are strategically positioned for future resource development.
At Viken South, historical drilling intersected extensive uranium and vanadium mineralization, including 95.6 meters at 185 ppm U3O8 and 0.26% vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) from a depth of 16 meters. This included a higher-grade segment of 22 meters at 216 ppm U3O8 and 0.26% V2O5.
Viken East also produced encouraging results, with three notable intersections, including 32.9 meters at 230 ppm U3O8 and 0.24% V2O5 from 26.4 meters. Within this interval, a higher-grade segment of 25.4 meters showed 252 ppm U3O8 and 0.27% V2O5. Surface rock sampling in this area further identified outcropping mineralization containing 0.56% V2O5 and 48 ppm U3O8 within alum shale, a known uranium-hosting rock type.
Ragnar’s executive director emphasized the significance of these findings in light of Sweden’s shifting political sentiment toward uranium mining. The initial exploration work at Flugen has highlighted the project's high-grade potential, warranting further mapping and analysis to refine exploration strategies.
The promising results from these projects demonstrate the company's commitment to advancing its Swedish uranium and vanadium assets. With strategic positioning and encouraging historical and current data, Ragnar Metals appears poised to further develop these projects.
Ragnar Metals is currently trading at 2.1 cents, reflecting growing interest in its Swedish exploration initiatives.
