Highlights:
- Exceptional Assays: High-grade gold samples exceeding 128 g/t identified at multiple prospects, including Crescent East and Bourkes United.
- Geological Insights: Sampling reveals strong gold grades in both previously tested and untested areas, enhancing geological understanding.
- New Targets: Discovery of a mineralised trend 500m east of Crescent and new targets like Mulloo Hill, presenting greenfield opportunities.
Premier1 Lithium Ltd (ASX:PLC) has uncovered significant high-grade gold assay results from its initial geological mapping and geochemical sampling program at the Yalgoo Project, located in Western Australia’s Murchison region. The results highlight the project's substantial gold potential, including grades as high as 128.5 grams per tonne (g/t).
High-grade gold assays were recorded across various prospect areas, with standout results such as 128.5 g/t and 78.9 g/t at Crescent East, 106.6 g/t at Bourkes United, 54.8 g/t at Olive Queen South, 18.1 g/t at Mulloo Hill, and 13.1 g/t at Broken Mound. These results underscore the presence of robust gold mineralisation across multiple zones within the project area.
The Yalgoo Project sampling program was designed to deepen the understanding of the geological structures and gold mineralisation controls within the tenement. The campaign successfully identified strong gold grades in both previously untested regions and areas close to known mineralised trends. This dual achievement adds both confidence and excitement to the project’s future prospects.
One of the key findings includes a new mineralised trend located approximately 500 meters east of the Crescent prospect, with assays reaching up to 128 g/t gold. Additionally, Mulloo Hill, situated roughly 15 kilometers south of the Crescent/Wadgingarra area, represents a new greenfield target, with assays of up to 18.1 g/t gold recorded. These discoveries significantly expand the project’s exploration scope and highlight the untapped potential of the Yalgoo region.
Premier1 Lithium’s Managing Director, Jason Froud, expressed enthusiasm for the project’s progress, stating that the results validate the high-grade gold potential of the Yalgoo Project. He noted that while strong gold grades were confirmed at established mineralised trends like Olive Queen, Bourkes United, and Broken Mound, the identification of new mineralised zones, particularly the greenfield target at Mulloo Hill, provides a significant opportunity for further exploration.
The Yalgoo Project is situated in a historically gold-rich region of Western Australia and has been a key focus for Premier1 Lithium as part of its diversification into gold exploration. The recent results reinforce the strategic importance of this project and its capacity to contribute to the company’s resource portfolio.
As the exploration program advances, the discovery of new mineralised trends and confirmation of high-grade gold zones are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the project’s development strategy. Further studies and sampling efforts are anticipated to refine the geological model and identify priority drill targets within the Yalgoo tenements.
Premier1 Lithium’s continued efforts at Yalgoo underline its commitment to leveraging Western Australia’s rich mineral endowment, with the latest findings marking a significant milestone in the company’s exploration journey.
