Nova Minerals Limited (ASX) (FRA) (NASDAQ) (OTCMKTS) has announced significant progress in its antimony-gold projects at Stibium and Styx, part of its expansive Estelle Project in Alaska's Tintina Gold Belt. The Estelle Project, known historically as a North American antimony producer, is now poised for potential near-term antimony production.
Key Highlights:
- Bulk Samples Collected: A 2,500kg bulk sample of antimony-rich material has been obtained from Stibium, and a 500kg bulk sample from Styx. These samples are being prepared for metallurgical testing.
- Analytical Work: Additional antimony-rich samples have been sent to the ALS laboratory for analysis, with results anticipated in the coming weeks.
- Process Development: Test work is underway to develop a process flow sheet and plant design for a potential standalone antimony production scenario at Stibium.
- Grant Proposal: A proposal has been submitted to the US Department of Defense (DoD) for grant funding to accelerate antimony production at Estelle.
Nova CEO Christopher Gerteisen remarked, "Initial results from the antimony discovery at Stibium were highly promising. With ongoing field programs, we have confirmed significant antimony presence across various prospects at Estelle, including Stibium and Styx. Given the current efforts in the US to secure domestic antimony supply chains, these discoveries position the company well to fast-track development. Bulk sampling is being conducted to develop a process flow sheet and plant design, with the aim of producing marketable antimony products swiftly. The company is also actively pursuing grant funding to support this initiative, particularly in light of recent Chinese export restrictions on antimony."
Surface mapping and sampling at Stibium and Styx have revealed extensive massive stibnite veining. Nova is collaborating with METS Engineering and the University of Alaska-Fairbanks CORE-CM group for the metallurgical studies. The company has already received initial stibnite samples and is awaiting further analysis results from the ALS laboratory.
An ongoing surface mapping and sampling program is being conducted, with future drilling planned to follow up on previously reported antimony vein zones at Stibium. Results from earlier drilling included high-grade antimony and gold.
Christopher Gerteisen, CEO of Nova Minerals, has been invited to a Department of Defense conference in September to discuss the potential for Estelle’s antimony production and its role in securing US domestic critical mineral supply chains.
