- Payns and Godfrey Prospects show strong potential for expansion.
Nexus Minerals Ltd (ASX:NXM) has reported significant regional exploration results at its Wallbrook Gold Project, located in the northeastern Goldfields of Western Australia. A recent aircore drilling program has uncovered shallow, high-grade gold prospects, driving positive momentum for the company. Nexus’s focused exploration efforts yielded positive results across all targeted areas, suggesting the Wallbrook Project holds considerable potential for further gold discoveries.
This extensive 284-hole aircore drilling campaign covered a total of 9,811 meters, targeting four priority regional areas. The results included broad, high-grade gold intercepts from shallow depths, marking two key discoveries that underscore the project’s potential. Highlights from the program include two significant new discoveries, which Nexus Minerals intends to incorporate into its resource portfolio.
Among the top results is the Payns Prospect, a combined target comprising MC5.2 and MC5.1. This target produced some of the strongest gold assay results in the program. Standout intercepts include 4 meters at 6.85 g/t gold within a broader 16 meters at 2.74 g/t from 28 meters depth, 4 meters at 7.12 g/t within 20 meters at 1.77 g/t from just 8 meters, and additional noteworthy assays that showcase the scale and grade potential of this prospect.
Additionally, Nexus Minerals saw encouraging outcomes at the Godfrey Prospect (MC2.2), which displayed a 1,200 by 100-meter gold anomaly. Located near the Crusader-Templar Deposit, this prospect has delivered favorable results with notable intercepts such as 4 meters at 4.02 g/t gold within a 15-meter interval at 1.30 g/t from 24 meters, as well as 4 meters at 3.81 g/t from 12 meters. This level of consistency across multiple targets reinforces the Wallbrook Project’s promise for robust, near-surface gold mineralization.
The recent success at Wallbrook has sparked further interest, with Nexus Minerals shares climbing significantly in response. The next phase of exploration will focus on follow-up aircore drilling to expand on these initial findings and explore additional regional targets. Nexus intends to prioritize targets for RC drilling, advancing those with the highest potential to continue building the Wallbrook Gold Project’s resource base.
Nexus’s strategy to systematically evaluate and develop high-quality, shallow gold deposits aligns with the company’s long-term vision for Wallbrook. The company is set to proceed with further exploration, supported by the positive outcomes from recent discoveries.
