Native Mineral Resources (ASX:NMR) is steadily advancing its transition to full-scale gold production at the Blackjack project in north Queensland. The project has already delivered initial gold pours and is moving into a more consistent production phase. This momentum positions the company in line with broader developments seen across ASX 200 companies, as mining activity continues to shape opportunities for long-term growth in the resources sector.

Operational Progress at Charters Towers

The Blackjack operation, situated near Charters Towers, has recently completed several blasts and commenced mining from the South Pit. Plans are also in place to initiate development of the North Pit, followed by the Central Pit and other potential extensions. These steps are part of a phased mining strategy designed to ensure sustainable ore supply and efficient use of the mill.

Current operations are being managed with day-shift activity to maintain a streamlined cost profile, with the flexibility to extend work into continuous rosters as the project progresses. This structured approach underlines the company’s focus on balancing efficiency with expansion.

Plant Expansion and Processing Improvements

To support future production goals, Native Mineral Resources has engaged engineering specialists to scope an expansion plan for the Blackjack processing plant. The study is aimed at improving automation, optimising throughput, and creating a framework for significant capacity growth over the coming years. The expansion strategy highlights the company’s intention to build a long-term, capital-efficient pathway for increased gold output.

Broader Portfolio and Exploration Upside

Alongside Blackjack, the company is also advancing work at its Far Fanning deposit. This site, located on multiple mining leases, has historic stockpiles that continue to show strong potential based on sampling results. Planned drilling programs are set to strengthen resource definition and support feasibility assessments.

Progressive rehabilitation and closure planning are also being developed across both Blackjack and Far Fanning, reflecting the company’s commitment to sustainable operations and responsible resource management.

The combination of initial production success, advancing pit development, and upcoming plant expansion provides Native Mineral Resources with a strong foundation for long-term growth. With its diversified asset base and ongoing exploration initiatives, the company is building a pathway to establish Blackjack as a central hub of its operations while unlocking further value from its regional portfolio.
