Lodestar Minerals Ltd (ASX:LSR) has unveiled three new copper targets at its Earaheedy Project in Western Australia. These discoveries stem from an extensive soil sampling campaign conducted in October 2024 on the newly granted E69/3532 tenement. The campaign concentrated on the Anticline and Imbin Central prospects, offering promising new directions for exploration.
The Anticline prospect, spanning a 20-kilometer-long and eight-kilometer-wide area, emerged as a focal point for the investigation. Despite much of the prospect being under cover, limiting geological mapping, initial findings indicated the presence of volcanic rocks. These insights were derived from 637 samples collected during October 2024, supplementing an earlier batch of 524 samples obtained in early 2024.
At the Anticline prospect, two gravity highs associated with a complex magnetic response added to the area's geological significance. Soil sampling revealed multielement anomalies, pointing to potential copper mineralization. Imbin Central also contributed to the dataset, although fewer samples were gathered from this location.
Since 2022, Lodestar Minerals has undertaken over 9,620 soil samples across its Earaheedy Project, consistently refining its understanding of the area's mineralization potential. The grant of the E69/3532 tenement in October 2024 provided the company with a fresh opportunity to advance exploration efforts, culminating in the identification of these new copper targets.
Lodestar's managing director, Ed Turner, emphasized the importance of initiating work on the recently granted tenements. He noted that the identification of these anomalies underscores the prospectivity of the Earaheedy Project. Further exploration in 2025 will focus on detailed geological mapping and evaluation of the newly identified targets.
The company plans to begin exploration activities in March 2025, leveraging these findings to deepen its understanding of the mineralization within the Earaheedy tenements. The next phase of work is expected to provide critical insights into the geological characteristics and economic potential of the identified targets.
Lodestar’s continued efforts to expand its copper exploration portfolio highlight its strategic commitment to uncovering valuable resources within Western Australia’s mineral-rich regions. With these newly defined targets, the Earaheedy Project remains a key asset in Lodestar’s exploration endeavors.
