Why Sayona has been making headlines of late?
- On 24 November 2022, Sayona informed that it has restarted North American Lithium (NAL) project with procurement completed 98% and permitting finalised 96% as of October end. Sayona informed that NAL operations are on progressing well for a restart of production in 2023 first quarter. Sayona stated it is looking forward to build largest lithium resource base in North America.
- Sayona, on 17 November 2022, informed via an ASX release that in order to boost northern Quebec lithium hub, the company has acquired 1,824 claims spread in 985 sq kms near Moblan Lithium Project. Sayona has brought the project from Troilus Gold Corp for CA$40 million payable in SYA shares. Sayona will also be investing CA$10 million for 9.26% equity stake in Troilus.
- This acquisition came after the expansion of Abitibi hub via Vallee Lithium Project, as Sayona is on a spree to expand North America’s leading lithium resource base.
- On 16 November 2022, Sayona held its Annual General Meeting wherein the company highlighted its major achievements of the year. Sayona shared that its market capitalisation topped AU$2 billion, share price went up by 87% and that the company was promoted to the S&P/ASX200 index.
