  • Sunshine Metals starts mapping at Francis Creek
  • Drone survey set to support upcoming drilling
  • Sybil prospect garners further exploration focus

Sunshine Metals (ASX:SHN) has launched a detailed mapping and sampling initiative at the Francis Creek area, part of the broader Sybil prospect within its Ravenswood Consolidated Project in Queensland. While Sunshine Metals does not fall under the ASX 200 stocks category, its exploration progress continues to capture attention across Australia's mining sector.

The company is carrying out reconnaissance mapping across Francis Creek East and the Burdekin Veins zones. This phase of work is being used to refine geological understanding before a scheduled drone-based topographic survey later in the month. The survey is expected to provide crucial elevation and surface structure data, enabling effective planning for a drilling program that is set to commence in August.

Initial results from rock chip sampling at Francis Creek have highlighted the presence of a gold-rich vein system extending over a significant surface area. The samples reveal encouraging mineralisation, bolstering the geological outlook for the site. This validation of the Sybil system’s potential marks another step forward in Sunshine Metals’ broader exploration goals in the region.

The Sybil prospect itself is situated along a geologically favourable structural corridor lined with Permian-Carboniferous volcanic formations that stretch across 40 kilometres. Sunshine Metals’ exploration licenses are positioned to the north of this corridor, with exploration efforts centred on both Francis Creek and Quartz Ridge areas.

Beyond the fieldwork, Sunshine Metals is also set to engage the broader investment and mining community through its participation at the upcoming Noosa Mining Investor Conference. The event, to be held in late July, offers a platform for updates on project progress and strategic direction.

With boots on the ground and data-driven planning in motion, Sunshine Metals continues to lay the groundwork for a promising exploration phase at Francis Creek. As drone surveys and drill planning converge, the company's methodical approach highlights its commitment to uncovering Queensland’s next gold-bearing opportunity.
