  • Forrestania Resources uncovers a 222g/t gold rock chip at Bonnie Vale.
  • Historical drill spoils at Bonnie Vale show nearly 14g/t gold grades.
  • Bonnie Vale project holds potential for further exploration.

Forrestania Resources (ASX:FRS), a nanocap mining company, has announced a significant discovery of a 222g/t gold-bearing rock chip at its Bonnie Vale project. Located within the East Goldfields region near Coolgardie, Western Australia, Bonnie Vale has emerged as a promising site for gold exploration. This announcement comes alongside another recent find of nearly 14g/t gold grades detected in historical drill spoils within the same project area.

The company's exploration activities are conducted under cost-effective measures, reflective of its market cap of under AUD 3 million. These efforts are supported by a known geochemical anomaly at the site, which aligns with a prospect known as Ada Ann. This anomaly has provided Forrestania with a new set of drilling targets that align with historical exploration findings.

Rock chip samples, while indicative of high-grade surface gold, are not always representative of subsurface deposits. Nevertheless, their discovery serves as a valuable precursor for identifying promising areas for drilling. The Bonnie Vale project benefits from its greenstone belt geology, which is often associated with significant gold deposits in Australia.

Historical exploration at Bonnie Vale has already identified several regional targets, including the Bonnie Vale North Prospect. This area, near the historic Christmas Gift Mine, produced gold at an average grade of 40.5g/t, underscoring the potential of the region.

John Hannaford, Chair of Forrestania Resources, highlighted the project's growing significance. “Bonnie Vale is emerging as a project with major potential for a gold discovery. With every new geological field trip, we continue to discover new areas of undocumented historic exploration that return super high-grade results,” Hannaford stated.

The current exploration approach leverages historical data while focusing on identifying new targets. Forrestania has incorporated findings from previous drilling and soil geochemical surveys to guide its exploration activities. While historical data has been instrumental in recent discoveries, the company is likely to initiate its own drilling campaigns in the future to unlock the project's full potential.

Forrestania Resources’ recent discoveries underscore the importance of the Bonnie Vale project in the East Goldfields region. These findings may pave the way for further exploration in an area already known for its rich gold deposits.
