Highlights

  • Diamond drilling underway at Tolmer to study high-grade mineralisation
  • Exploration confirms significant silver and gold zones
  • Soil sampling program to guide next exploration steps

Barton Gold Holdings (ASX:BGD) has commenced a diamond drilling program at the Tolmer prospect within its Tarcoola gold project in South Australia. The move aims to build a detailed understanding of the mineralised zones, focusing on both silver and gold potential.

The discovery at Tolmer revealed exceptionally high-grade silver, which has since been supported by further drilling and exploration. The mineralised footprint now extends across a wide corridor, with distinct zones containing both silver and gold. These results strengthen the company’s regional development outlook, which also includes work at the Tunkillia project.

Targeting the Eastern Gold Zone

The latest drilling involves three diamond drill holes designed to examine the ‘Eastern Gold Zone’. The presence of high-grade gold alongside silver adds a significant dimension to Tolmer’s profile. Earlier exploration in the ‘Western Silver Zone’ identified outstanding assay results, further raising interest in the area.

Re-testing of previous drill holes at Tolmer has confirmed strong gold intersections, with silver grades recorded from fresh rock for the first time. This new round of drilling, totalling several hundred metres, is expected to provide valuable insights into the structural controls influencing mineralisation and guide future exploration targets.

Soil Sampling for Broader Assessment

Barton has also completed a soil sampling program across a large area surrounding the high-grade discoveries at Tolmer. Results from this work are anticipated in the coming months and will help refine future drilling priorities.

The exploration strategy at Tolmer complements Barton’s broader portfolio in South Australia. The company is advancing studies and approvals at its Tunkillia project following an updated scoping study earlier this year. These combined efforts align with its ongoing commitment to building a diversified precious metals pipeline.

For investors tracking developments across the Australian resources sector, Barton’s activities contribute to the evolving landscape, even as companies in the ASX 200 continue to attract significant market attention.
