Highlights
- Augustus Minerals Ltd extends Justinian prospect by three kilometers.
- New rock chip sampling shows 5.3g/t gold and 16% copper.
- Extensions found at various zones within the Ti-Tree project.
Augustus Minerals Ltd (ASX:AUG) has reported a significant extension of its Justinian copper-gold prospect, located within the Ti-Tree project in Western Australia. The prospect has been extended by over three kilometers, following encouraging results from rock chip sampling, which revealed high-grade mineralisation. Samples returned results of 5.3 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold and 16% copper, further validating the company's exploration efforts in the region.
The recent data comes from fieldwork completed earlier this year, where Augustus Minerals reviewed findings across a 3.3 km by 1.1 km area of the Ti-Tree project. The company’s sampling not only identified high-grade mineralisation in rock chips but also corroborated earlier soil sampling results, which had hinted at significant mineral deposits in the region. The new findings strengthen the prospect's potential as a key copper-gold target.
In addition to copper and gold, Augustus Minerals also detected anomalous values of lead and zinc at the Justinian prospect. This has prompted plans for additional sampling in the area to further define and delineate the mineralised structures. These efforts are expected to pave the way for future drilling campaigns, aimed at unlocking the full potential of the prospect.
Beyond Justinian, soil sampling across the broader Ti-Tree project has also resulted in notable discoveries. Extensions were identified at several sites, including Crawford West, Coo Creek, Howell’s Gap, and Moogooree. Notably, copper-gold-zinc anomalies were extended by 1.5 kilometers to the west of Crawford Bore, an area that had previously been subject to drilling in the prior year. Furthermore, the Coo Creek zone showed anomalous gold values exceeding five parts per billion, hinting at possible massive sulphide targets similar to the Broken-Hill style.
The Ti-Tree project, which covers an expansive 3,600 square kilometers in the Gasgoyne region of Western Australia, remains a major focus for Augustus Minerals Ltd. These latest findings suggest further exploration could yield even more promising results.
