Highlights
- Astral Resources intercepts high-grade gold at Kamperman prospect.
- Key results include 3 metres at 177 g/t gold from 74 metres.
- Diamond drilling planned to further explore high-grade zones.
Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) has announced the discovery of high-grade gold at the Kamperman prospect, part of its Feysville Gold Project in Western Australia. Among the standout results is an intercept of 3 metres at 177 g/t gold from 74 metres, which adds to the company's growing portfolio of promising gold finds. This result comes from the company's recent reverse circulation (RC) drill program, consisting of 31 holes covering 3,834 metres. The first 20 holes, representing 2,580 metres, have yielded highly encouraging results, with further exploration planned.
Notable Drill Results
Drill hole FRC378 delivered several noteworthy results, including a 12-metre intercept at 7.26 g/t gold from 23 metres, with higher-grade intervals of 1 metre at 16.5 g/t from 24 metres and 1 metre at 39.7 g/t from 27 metres. The 3 metres at 177 g/t gold from 74 metres further highlights the high-grade potential of the Kamperman prospect. Additionally, hole FRC377 revealed an intercept of 12 metres at 1.96 g/t gold from 20 metres and 5 metres at 1.25 g/t from 58 metres.
These results are particularly significant as they demonstrate that Kamperman continues to reveal new high-grade zones, with the potential for further discoveries as drilling progresses. Astral Resources has also noted that Kamperman remains open to the north, with step-out holes intersecting additional gold mineralisation in the northern and northeastern areas of the prospect.
Exploration and Drilling Plans
Astral Resources plans to conduct diamond drilling at Kamperman to better understand the orientation of the high-grade zone identified in hole FRC378. This follows previous attempts with diamond drilling that were less successful in identifying the precise orientation of this zone. Additional RC drilling is also planned, focusing on structures that may be controlling the mineralisation, including a northeast-trending fault.
Meanwhile, RC drilling has been completed at Kamperman as of early October 2024, with the drill rig now mobilised to Mandilla’s Iris Deposit for a separate infill program. Once the current groundwater testing at Iris is complete, the RC rig will return to Kamperman for further drilling, likely before the end of the year. Astral is also conducting diamond drilling at Mandilla’s Theia deposit, with results from that program expected in early 2025.
As Astral Resources continues its exploration efforts, Kamperman remains a key focus, with the potential for further high-grade discoveries as the company advances its drilling programs.
