Race Oncology (ASX:RAC) has reported substantial strides in its RC220 Phase 1 clinical trial during the June quarter, reinforcing its dedication to tackling complex cancer challenges. The RC220 treatment, a refined formulation of bisantrene, was administered for the first time as both a standalone and a combination therapy with doxorubicin. This initial milestone focused on patients with advanced solid tumours. Importantly, the treatments were safely completed without any observed complications such as vein inflammation. This progress sets the groundwork for deeper clinical evaluation of RC220’s potential to deliver anticancer effects while addressing heart safety concerns linked with traditional chemotherapy agents like doxorubicin.
Alongside clinical advancement, Race Oncology also reinforced its medical leadership. Two senior appointments were made to accelerate clinical development—bringing in experienced professionals to drive strategic growth and support the RC220 program's execution across global sites.
