  • Implementation involves integration with electronic health records and a phased rollout through 2025

The healthcare technology sector on the ASX index continues to evolve as digital platforms become central to institutional efficiency. This development reflects a broader industry trend where medical organisations shift towards integrated systems that improve clinical workflows. Pro Medicus Ltd (ASX:PME), listed on the ASX, is a key entity in this domain, known for its cloud-based diagnostic imaging solutions.

Contract with University of Iowa Health Care

Pro Medicus Ltd has formalised an agreement with University of Iowa Health Care involving its Visage 7 platform. Structured through its US subsidiary, Visage Imaging, Inc, the agreement spans multiple years and involves a transactional licensing model. The Visage 7 suite—comprising Viewer, Workflow, and Open Archive—will be implemented across the entire health system.

Legacy System Migration and EHR Integration

As part of this arrangement, University of Iowa Health Care will transition from its existing Picture Archiving and Communication System to the Visage Open Archive. This upgrade is intended to improve the institution’s data archiving capabilities. Additionally, Visage 7 will be fully integrated with the health system’s electronic health records, allowing for seamless image distribution and unified patient information across departments.

Deployment Across a Large Medical Network

The rollout begins immediately and targets completion by late 2025. The health system includes three main campuses and an extensive workforce, including physicians, dentists, fellows, residents, and nursing personnel. The integration of Visage 7 aims to support operational continuity throughout this expansive network.

Context Within ASX-Listed Healthcare Technology Firms

Pro Medicus (ASX:PME) continues to align with institutional requirements across the North American medical technology space. The company’s focus on scalable, cloud-based systems corresponds with broader infrastructure upgrades across hospitals. Healthcare organisations are increasingly prioritising platforms that offer reliability and integration, particularly in diagnostic imaging.
