On 1 July 2025, SportsHero Ltd (ASX:SHO) announced a landmark two-year agreement with PLDT Inc., the Philippines' largest fully integrated telecommunications company. The deal, facilitated through SportsHero’s wholly owned subsidiary, SportsHero Enterprise Pte Ltd, marks a major step forward in the company’s Southeast Asian growth strategy.

Strategic Partnership With PLDT
Under the agreement, SportsHero will provide the platform enabling PLDT customers in the Philippines to subscribe to and access the iGV Game Pass. The arrangement includes complete management of PLDT’s Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) API integration, user acceptance testing (UAT), quality assurance (QA), ongoing maintenance and server support.

PLDT will bundle the iGV Game Pass with its premium PLDT Home broadband plans for the first 12 months. In parallel, Game Pass will be promoted to non-premium customers at a mutually agreed retail price. The telco will also lead all exclusive marketing efforts, including promotional campaigns, strategic partnerships, and other initiatives.
In addition to the bundled premium offering, the agreement unlocks further revenue opportunities across PLDT’s broader customer base, both existing and new. Revenue from the Game Pass will be shared, with 65% allocated to SportsHero and 35% to PLDT.
Strengthening Southeast Asian Expansion
This partnership reinforces SportsHero’s broader Southeast Asian expansion strategy, following recent collaborations with Indonesian telcos Indosat and XL Axiata. The Philippines has now emerged as a cornerstone of that strategy, with an estimated 43 million PC gamers nationwide, forming a direct target market for the iGV Family Game Pass product.
The company, referring to market reports, suggests that, in 2024, the country’s video game and console market was valued at USD 1.15 billion and is forecast to reach USD 1.9 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 9.1%. The eSports sector alone is expected to generate USD 27.7 million in 2025.
PLDT Home, the home broadband unit of PLDT, holds a 50.6% share of the broadband market, with 3.2 million fiber-to-the-home subscribers, making this deal a significant opportunity for SportsHero to expand its footprint in the region.
The signing validates the market demand for SportsHero’s iGV Family Game Pass, which provides access to more than 200 premium PC game titles under a single subscription, including popular games such as Call of Duty, Among Us, Counter-strike 2, Elden Ring, PUBG, and GTA V.
SHO shares traded at AUD 0.028 per share on 2 July 2025 with a market cap of AUD 20.48 million.
