Zoono Group (ZNO) signs exclusive agreement with UK-based Sharpak
Partnership applies antimicrobial and application technology to fruit packaging
Contract targets extended shelf life for products sold through UK supermarkets
Zoono Group (ASX:ZNO), operating in the biotechnology and health sector, has entered an exclusive packaging contract alongside partner OSY with Sharpak Aylesham, a UK-based packaging manufacturer. The collaboration includes antimicrobial and application innovations intended for use within the food retail segment. Sharpak forms part of a European group focused on packaging solutions across key consumer sectors.
Packaging Innovation in Retail Food Supply
The agreement introduces Zoono’s antimicrobial products to Sharpak’s food-safe packaging systems, with a focus on soft fruit containers. The materials are distributed through major UK supermarket chains. This packaging arrangement is designed to support food freshness through extended shelf-life properties.
Scope of Partnership with Sharpak
Sharpak Aylesham is a division of Groupe Guillin, a pan-European packaging group headquartered in France. Under the agreement, OSY’s technologies will be embedded into Sharpak’s production process, combining with Zoono’s surface protection treatments. The UK-based rollout represents an initial step in a broader engagement framework involving the three companies.
Contractual Focus on Shelf Life Management
The agreement is structured around exclusive use within specified retail categories. It introduces new packaging applications within the supply chain that involve reduced spoilage across distribution and consumer channels. The technologies used aim to address key challenges in the transportation and preservation of perishable goods such as berries.
Ongoing Collaboration and Market Rollout
OSY and Zoono (ASX:ZNO) have stated the implementation will be integrated across existing Sharpak lines. The packaging solutions target major UK retailers and align with efforts to support sustainable consumption. Discussions regarding broader adoption and product line extensions are expected to proceed based on packaging sector performance and uptake.
