“Jaunt” means a short journey, especially one taken for pleasure. Taking the name quite seriously is the Australian firm Jaunt Motors. The company, engaged in recycling old, traditional cars and turning them into electric vehicles, has merged with Bristol-based Zero EV to create a joint company – Fellten. As the name suggests, Zero EV also works in the same industry.
As per the two companies, Fellten will be the world’s biggest electric conversion system manufacturing specialist.
Fellten stated that there is an exponential demand for such converted electric vehicles across America, Europe, and Australia. Therefore, they came up with facility centres on all three continents. Also, the company will be holding training workshops across these facilities for more awareness.
The two merged firms have been credited with having engineered EV systems in different classic brands and models ,like Porche 911s, Classic Minis, Land Rover Series, and Defenders, in the past.
As per Dave Budge, the co-founder and CEO of Jaunt Motors, and now the chief design officer of Fellten, in order to achieve net zero emissions all vehicles would need to go electric by 2050. He added that people who own classic cars would want to convert their vehicles into electric ones and would want this to happen sooner rather than later. Budge stated that Fellten is all set to meet those expectations.
