Streamplay Studios (ASX:SP8) is advancing its presence in the North American gaming industry with its acquisition of Noodlecake Studios, a Canada-based indie gaming company. The agreement, a binding Share Sale Agreement, involves acquiring Noodlecake from Zplay (HK) Technology Co. Ltd, Noodlecake's parent company. This move is expected to strengthen Streamplay’s portfolio and enhance its capabilities within the North American gaming landscape.

Noodlecake Studios

Noodlecake Studios, founded in 2011, boasts an extensive portfolio of more than 60 in-house and published games. These games have collectively amassed over 270 million downloads worldwide, with the studio forging partnerships with major industry players like Apple, Google, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo.

Some of its popular games include the Google Play-recognized “Yes, Your Grace,” the multiplayer sensation “Golf Blitz,” and the artistic “Alto’s Odyssey,” which earned an Apple Design Award in 2018. Noodlecake's achievements underscore its reputation as a leading innovator in indie gaming.

In financial terms, Noodlecake’s operations generate significant revenue, bringing in approximately A$42 million from key monetization channels. For the year ending December 31, 2023, the studio achieved annual revenue of A$7.3 million, demonstrating its financial viability.
