- Corazon has begun a maiden drilling program at the Mt Gilmore Copper-Cobalt-Gold Project.
- The drilling program will focus on the 8km-long Gordonbrook Hill (GBH)– May Queen copper-cobalt silver-gold anomaly.
- Also, Corazon has been progressing towards the recommencement of drilling campaign at the Lynn Lake project.
Premium battery metals explorer Corazon Mining Ltd. (ASX:CZN) has announced the commencement of drilling program at the Mt Gilmore Copper-Cobalt-Gold Project in New South Wales. The equity market welcomed the significant update as CZN shares surged to AU$0.034 a share on 17 June 2021 at 1:12 PM AEST.
The company also updated that Corazon is progressing towards the recommencement of drilling at the Lynn Lake Nickel Sulphide Project in Manitoba.
Maiden drill program at GBH
The drilling program will focus on the 8km-long Gordonbrook Hill (GBH)– May Queen copper-cobalt silver-gold anomaly at the 20km long Mt Gilmore Trend. The 300m long mineralised porphyry intrusions at GBH coincides with a large geochemical anomaly and an IP chargeability geophysical anomaly.

The coincident geophysical and geochemical features are understood to represent a significant mineralised porphyry target, kilometres in scale. The drilling phase is anticipated to conclude in over two months and the results will be released in the due course.

District level Cu-Co exploration play at Mt Gilmore project
Located near Grafton in northern New South Wales, the Mt Gilmore Project is a district-scale Cobalt-Copper-Gold exploration play. The project is centered on an anomalous copper, cobalt, gold, silver and molybdenum trend, which is in excess of 20 kilometres in length.
The maiden drill campaign at the GBH target includes two core holes for 900m and will test the area near the GBH mineralised porphyry, which was identified by Corazon in 2020.

It is to be noted that the drilling program will witness the very first drill holes on the Mt Gilmore copper trend that includes -
- Central 8km strike Cu-Co-Ag-Au soil geochemical anomaly
- Numerous high-grade rock chip samples
- Known copper mineralised porphyry on the surface.
What’s up at Lynn Lake?
Corazon has also been proceeding on recommencing the drill program at the Lynn Lake Nickel Sulphide Project. The exploration activities continue to be a priority task for Corazon. The latest work includes regional exploration including drill testing geophysical anomalies at the Fraser Lake Complex (FLC).
An aerial MobleMT geophysical survey has delineated a large conductor, west of the FLC. The drilling at these targets intercepted favourable host rocks for nickel sulphide and extensive indications of magmatic sulphide mineralisation. Further, the down-hole electromagnetic (DHEM) testing identified large off-hole conductors, indicating the aggregation of magmatic nickel-copper-cobalt sulphides.
Corazon is committed to recommencing the drilling activity at Lynn Lake and will commence as soon as practicable.
