Highlights

  • New high-grade drill results at Oval discovery
  • 800m mineralisation trend confirmed with copper-nickel hits
  • Metallurgical and geophysics programs progressing

Asian Battery Metals PLC (LSE:ABM) has unveiled encouraging updates from its ongoing Phase 3 drilling campaign at the Oval Cu-Ni-PGE discovery, which is part of the broader Yambat Project in Mongolia. The company’s recent results showcase a significant extension of mineralisation, reinforcing the site’s growing potential as a high-grade copper-nickel deposit with added precious metals.

Substantial Drill Intercepts Signal Promise

The standout announcement included a series of strong assay results from drilling activities that revealed consistent high-grade intersections. One of the most notable results featured a 27-metre intercept grading over 1.3% copper and nearly 0.9% nickel. Additionally, the presence of platinum group elements and traces of gold adds further value to the mineralisation.

These drill results extend the known mineralised zone over 800 metres, spanning from the North Oval Zone to the main Oval Zone. According to company updates, further assays are awaited from holes 36 and 40, which are targeting previously intersected massive sulphides. These follow-up results are expected to further clarify the extent and grade continuity of the deposit.

Strategic Exploration Backed by Solid Financials

Asian Battery Metals is entering this phase of exploration from a position of strength. The company raised nearly AU$4 million in February through an oversubscribed placement, contributing to its strong cash position of over AU$5 million at the end of Q1 2025. This financial stability is enabling it to execute its exploration roadmap well into 2025 without disruption.

Beyond the core drilling, additional activities are underway. A metallurgical study, crucial for understanding how the minerals can be efficiently processed, is currently in progress with results expected in July. Parallelly, the company has initiated a geophysical survey using Samsung M-by-Gap methods. This survey aims to delineate further high-potential drill targets across the broader Yambat region.

Ongoing Developments to Drive News Flow

Asian Battery Metals has signaled that it anticipates a steady stream of updates over the coming months. As new assay results arrive and additional exploration data is analysed, the market can expect greater clarity on the scale and quality of this promising Mongolian discovery.

With mineralisation stretching across a large corridor and further tests in the pipeline, the Oval discovery is fast emerging as a focal point in the company’s strategic growth trajectory.
