iMetal Resources signs preliminary agreement for antimony-silver-zinc project in Bosnia
Historic Cemernica mine to undergo verification for updated resource estimate
Capital raised through private placement to support exploration and acquisition steps
Junior mineral exploration company iMetal Resources (TSX-V:IMR) has initiated steps to expand its footprint through a proposed acquisition in the European mining sector. The company, which holds exploration interests across Ontario and Québec, has signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire the Cemernica antimony-silver-zinc concession in Bosnia’s Fojnica municipality. iMetal Resources does not form part of the All Ordinaries but remains an active name within the junior resource community.
The proposed acquisition marks a notable geographic and strategic shift for iMetal, positioning the company within the antimony space at a time of increasing interest in critical minerals.
Cemernica Mine to Undergo Verification for Current Resource Status
The Cemernica concession holds a historic mineral estimate for antimony, zinc, and silver. However, for that estimate to be brought into compliance with current reporting standards, a program of underground sampling and diamond drilling is required. This verification process is intended to upgrade the legacy data into a formal mineral resource estimate.
No timeframe has been provided for the completion of these technical assessments. The company has indicated that further information will be made available as the due diligence process unfolds.
Financing Supports Exploration and Transaction Progress
In support of its broader development plans, iMetal Resources has completed a non-brokered private placement involving the issuance of units priced at a previously reported level. Funds raised are allocated to exploration activities and to facilitate the potential acquisition of the Bosnian asset.
A new unit placement has also been initiated, this time with share purchase warrants attached. Each warrant entitles holders to acquire additional shares within a specified period. Proceeds from this offering are expected to support ongoing company operations and acquisition costs.
Strategic Realignment Toward Critical Mineral Exposure
With its primary focus historically set on Canadian projects, iMetal’s shift into the antimony market marks a reorientation of its asset portfolio. Antimony, increasingly recognised as a strategic mineral in energy storage and defense applications, is gaining prominence in global markets.
The company’s move into Bosnia aligns with broader trends among junior explorers seeking to diversify project pipelines across multiple jurisdictions and mineral types.
iMetal’s Path Forward Awaits Further Disclosure
As the Cemernica transaction remains non-binding, the finalisation of terms and completion of technical due diligence will determine the project's advancement. The company's capital initiatives and exploration focus suggest further updates are likely in the coming periods.
