  • Drilling to recommence at key mineral zones
  • New EM targets emerge beyond primary area
  • Survey tools upgraded for deeper insights

Asian Battery Metals (ABM) is set to restart drilling operations at its Oval copper-nickel discovery in southern Mongolia. This renewed phase of exploration follows encouraging findings from an ongoing electromagnetic (EM) survey, which is progressing across the mineral-rich region.

The company is targeting deeper layers and stepping out into new areas like MS1, MS2, and Quartz Hill, moving beyond the central Oval zone. These locations have shown signs of geological continuity and mineralisation potential. Notably, new conductive plates have been detected outside the main discovery zone, expanding the company’s understanding of the region's mineral landscape.

The survey has already identified multiple high-conductivity targets, and the exploration team is using advanced downhole EM tools to enhance detection capabilities. This marks the first time high-power EM equipment is being applied by the company in this type of geological environment. These tools are expected to offer improved insights into deeper zones, aiding in the identification of more refined drill targets.

Earlier drilling across the Oval and adjacent northern zones laid the groundwork for this next stage. With a more detailed view of the sub-surface structure now emerging, the current program aims to map out the scale of mineralisation across a broader footprint.

While the company does not fall within the ASX 200 index, its exploration work contributes to the broader growth narrative of Australian mining ventures.

The broader objective for Asian Battery Metals is to delineate and understand the full extent of its mineral system through this data-driven exploration strategy. The presence of multiple conductive plates and favourable survey responses indicate promising areas for further development, pointing to a highly active exploration environment.

As the EM program moves forward and drilling resumes, the company continues refining its geological model. These steps not only progress the project operationally but also contribute to the evolving understanding of the region’s mineral resources.
