Highlights

  • Tellus finalises global agreement with Traxys for kaolin production and distribution

  • Feasibility Study planned at Sandy Ridge Facility in Western Australia

  • Kaolin to be supplied across multiple industrial and ceramic applications

Tellus, a participant in the industrial minerals sector, has formalised a strategic arrangement with Traxys, a global commodities trading group. This agreement focuses on the production, marketing, and global sales of wet refined kaolin sourced from the Sandy Ridge Facility in Western Australia. The development positions Tellus within key supply chains tied to industrial and ceramic manufacturing. The company is associated with the ASX industrial materials segment, contributing to broader index activities such as those captured in the ASX 200.

Feasibility Study for Kaolin Production at Sandy Ridge

As outlined in the agreement, Tellus will undertake a Feasibility Study to evaluate the production of kaolin from its existing facility. This initiative will examine the viability of processing substantial volumes of refined kaolin annually. The outcomes are expected to define the scale and processing capabilities aligned with global ceramic-grade standards.

Traxys to Manage Sales and Marketing Operations

Upon completion of the Feasibility Study, Traxys will oversee the purchasing, marketing, and sales of kaolin derived from the Sandy Ridge operation. Distribution will span international markets, with material tailored for specific applications in the ceramics industry, including porcelain ware, tiles, sanitaryware, and white tableware production.

Kaolin Applications Across Global Industrial Markets

Kaolin is recognised for its high-grade properties such as brightness, plasticity, and thermal resistance. These characteristics support its use across a diverse range of sectors. Beyond ceramics, kaolin serves critical functions in the manufacture of paints, plastics, rubber, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and construction-related products. The material’s versatility supports its role in industries requiring consistent and high-purity mineral inputs.

Sandy Ridge Facility Positioned for Supply Chain Integration

The Sandy Ridge Facility’s role as a source of refined kaolin contributes to the strategic positioning of Tellus within global supply networks. With Traxys managing logistics and sales, the facility is structured to link production with end-use industries that demand reliable access to processed industrial minerals. This development may align with shifts in industrial material flow tracked across ASX-listed commodity firms.
