ASX 200 Posted Gains under 1.0% led by Healthy GDP Quarterly data

On 03rd March 2021, the equity market of Australia marched northwards. ASX 200 settled in green and surged by 0.82% to 6818.0. On the same day, Basic Materials sector and Financials sector soared by 2.98% and 1.15% respectively, while Academics and Educational services sector declined the most by 1.84%. Notably, Australian economy grew by 3.1% in December quarter 2020 reflecting an overall recovery due to easing of COVID-19 related restrictions, according to the data published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Movements on Wall Street: On March 2, 2021, Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 0.46% to 31,391.52. Notably, NASDAQ Composite also fell by 1.69% to 13,358.79.

Gainers and Losers: Ramelius Resources Ltd. (ASX: RMS) and Nufarm Ltd. (ASX: NUF) soared by 13.69% and 7.60%, respectively. On the flip side, News Corp (ASX: NWS) slipped by 3.76%.
