  • Askari Metals reveals high-grade tin and tantalum results at Uis Project
  • EPL 8535 tenement shows untapped mineral potential near active mine
  • Strategic location and geology align with established operations

The mining industry continues to play a pivotal role in fueling global technological and infrastructural progress. Within this dynamic sector, Askari Metals (ASX:AS2) has captured attention through promising exploration results from its Uis Project in Namibia, signaling new opportunities in tin and tantalum development.

The recent findings are centered around EPL 8535, the southernmost tenement of the Uis Project. Situated just 14 kilometers from the operational Uis Tin Mine, the area has largely remained unexplored by modern standards despite its geological proximity to a productive mine. Askari Metals has tapped into this potential by analyzing historical data and initiating targeted exploration activities.

Standout results from the project's latest phase include assays registering 3.17% tin oxide and 5,226 ppm tantalum pentoxide. These grades highlight the quality of the mineralization within the region’s pegmatite systems—geological formations that have also yielded similar outcomes at the neighboring Uis Tin Mine operated by Andrada Mining (AQSE:ATM). The correlation in geological structure between the two sites enhances the confidence in the resource potential at EPL 8535.

Surface mapping, rock chip sampling, and initial reverse circulation (RC) drilling have revealed encouraging signs of mineralization, including rubidium alongside tin and tantalum. The identification of multiple, unexplored pegmatite targets further elevates the project's outlook, hinting at broader polymetallic possibilities across the license area.

From a market perspective, tin remains a highly valued metal due to its widespread use in electronics, soldering, and energy storage technologies. The notable grades found at the Uis Project come at a time when global demand for strategic and critical minerals is on the rise, reinforcing the relevance of such exploration outcomes.

Askari Metals’ approach to leveraging historical datasets while deploying modern techniques reflects a growing trend within the industry: maximizing legacy data to uncover high-value resources in previously overlooked regions. The company's positioning within this mineral-rich corridor places it on a forward path as further exploration continues.

As exploration advances, the Uis Project is likely to become a focal point for regional development in Namibia’s mining sector. With robust geological indicators and a strong strategic location, Askari Metals is shaping up as a key contributor to the next phase of critical mineral development in the region.
