Experienced gold miner, Troy Resources Limited (ASX:TRY) announced that at 18.30 on 13 September 2020 (Guyana time), a minor fire broke out in the stores of the Karouni mine site. The stores held all spares and non-hazardous consumable for the mining operation.
At this stage, it appears that an electrical fault triggered the fire. However, the investigations are still progressing. The fast response by the on-site ERT team has contained the fire from spreading to other areas. No one has been injured in the fire.
Troy anticipates no impact on the production but the spare parts would have to be procured in time to ensure no implications on production at a later date. Troy holds insurance covering fire incidents.
Troy Resources traded at A$0.110 per share at 2:35 PM AEST on 16 September 2020, with a market capitalisation of $66.37 million.
