Today the Australian stock market gained 32.90 points. The benchmark index S&P/ASX200 settled at 6531.10 points, slightly up by 0.51 per cent. The trending stocks for Wednesday were - Virgin Australia Holdings Limited (ASX:VAH), Qantas Airways Limited (ASX:QAN), and Charter Hall Group (ASX:CHC).

On 17 November 2020, Wall Street had a gloomy trading session. The Nasdaq Composite was down by 0.21 per cent, Dow Industrials dipped by 0.56 per cent, and S&P 500 declined by 0.48 per cent.

The commodity section on Wednesday (18 November 2020) at AEDT 05:51 PM, the crude oil slightly dipped by 0.39 per cent and was trading at USD 41.27 a barrel. The Gold traded flat at USD 1,878.17. 

The Australian dollar remained flat and was trading at AUD 0.7295 and bitcoin jumped by 7.44 per cent and was trading at 24,491.1.

The stocks that increased the maximum during Wednesday (18 November 2020) are:  

  • Alumina Limited (ASX: AWCpoints increased the most today. It closed at AUD 1.720 and was up by 5.846 per cent. 
  • Whitehaven Coal Limited (ASX:WHCwas once again at the second-top position today. It closed at AUD 1.345 and was up by 5.490 per cent. 

The stocks that dived the most during Wednesday (18 November 2020) are:  

  • a2 Milk Company Limited (ASX:A2M) closed at AUD 13.980 and was dipped by 4.834 per cent. 
  • Cooper Energy Limited (ASX:COEclosed at AUD 0.345 and declined by 4.167 per cent.
