After continuing downturn pattern this week, ASX 200 today gained 7.50 points on 13 January 2021. The benchmark index managed to end in the positive territory and settled at 6686.60 points, as an increase of 0.11 per cent on previous day closure.
On 12 January 2021, all main indices of the US stock market terminated in the green zone. The Nasdaq Composite, Dow Industrials, and S&P 500 surged by 0.28 per cent, 0.19 per cent, and 0.04 per cent, respectively.
At AEDT 4:52 PM, today the commodity section saw crude oil and gold trading in the green area. The crude oil was trading at USD 53.78 a barrel, up by 1.05 per cent, whereas gold was trading at USD 1858.18.
The currency section witnessed Bitcoin and Australian dollar trading in the red area. Bitcoin was down by 8.40 per cent while trading at AUD 42,717.7. The Australian dollar was at AUD 0.7762, falling by 0.12 per cent.

- Premier Investments Limited (ASX:PMV) closed the day's trade at AUD 25.350, up by 12.716 per cent.
PMV today announced that it is expecting Premier Retail 1H21 EBIT for the 27-week period to be up by 75 per cent to 85 per cent on 1H20.
- Whitehaven Coal Limited (ASX:WHC) closed the day's trade at AUD 1.750, increased by 9.374 per cent.

- PolyNovo Limited (ASX:PNV) once again remained the worst performer of the day and closed the day's trade at AUD 2.680, down by 9.153 per cent.
- Altium Limited (ASX:ALU) closed today's trading at AUD 28.260, decreased by 6.207 per cent.
