Australian explorer King River Resources Limited (ASX: KRR) has identified a more direct route to complete a process design, outlining a lower risk and faster path towards the production of High Purity Alumina (HPA). The ongoing Speewah Prefeasibility Study (PFS) testwork and studies have identified the new route.

The Company can directly use its new leaching and refining route on a readily available industrial aluminium chemical feedstock. The alternative production circuit is a simpler process compared to the original process flow sheets. It would also not require the development of associated mining, processing, and logistical infrastructure up at Speewah.

Some further metallurgical testwork and engineering will be required for finalising the PFS, which is now expected to be delivered in Q1 2021.
