Power plants using natural gas for energy generation will not be classified as a sustainable investment in Europe unless they meet an emissions limit.

At present, no power plant using natural gas for energy generation meets the emissions limit.
As per the draft rule of the European Union, only those investments making a substantial contribution to curbing climate change would be classified as sustainable.
As per the current emissions limit, a gas-powered plant must not produce over 100gtams of carbon dioxide equivalent per kilowatt-hour.
