- At present, no power plant using natural gas for energy generation meets the emissions limit.
- As per the draft rule of the European Union, only those investments making a substantial contribution to curbing climate change would be classified as sustainable.
- As per the current emissions limit, a gas-powered plant must not produce over 100gtams of carbon dioxide equivalent per kilowatt-hour.
