According to media sources, one of the biggest buy now, pay later (BNPL) players – Affirm shall be shortly entering into the Australian market.
Besides the US, Affirm currently has operations in Canada.
If sources are to be believed, while it may have less customers than Afterpay (ASX:APT), it caters to more monthly users.
Affirm is the third largest BNPL player in the US with a customer database of around 5.6 million.
The company was co-founded in 2012 by Max Levchin who was also one of the men behind PayPal.
Meanwhile, Affirm’s model of work differs from Afterpay. Affirm allows its customers more time than most of the BNPL companies to pay back on their purchases.
