Highlights
- At the Yidby Gold Project, more than 12,000m of RC drilling has been completed, with nearly all holes intersecting mineralisation.
- The project spans 133 sq km and hosts eight prospects and targets.
- Mineralisation is open in all directions, with significant scope at depth.
- Metallurgical test work demonstrates excellent gold recoveries, including leach extraction up to 99.6%.
- Multiple prospects delivered thick and high-grade gold intersections.
Surefire Resources (ASX:SRN) (FSE:GBL) has released a presentation outlining recent developments at its Yidby Gold Project in Western Australia. Drilling, geological interpretation and metallurgical testing continue to confirm the potential for a significant mineralised gold system. Located in a region that surrounds several multi-million-ounce deposits, the project has delivered consistent results across multiple prospects and targets.
Well-Located Project in a Proven Gold District
The Yidby Gold Project is approximately 320 kilometres northeast of Perth, adjacent to the Great Northern Highway. It lies within a greenstone belt that remains relatively underexplored, despite being surrounded by major gold systems. Mineralisation at Yidby occurs beneath 20–25 metres of transported cover, meaning it was previously overlooked by conventional exploration and prospecting methods.
The project’s geology comprises mafic and ultramafic rock sequences similar to those at the 4.5Moz Mt Gibson deposit, located 30 kilometres to the south. The rock units are broadly folded against a significant NE–SW trending shear zone.
Extensive Drilling Confirms Large Gold System
Surefire has completed more than 12,000m of RC drilling, with over 140 RC holes and five diamond holes drilled to date. Almost all holes have intersected mineralisation, with several returning significant zones up to 100m wide. Gold mineralisation currently spans several prospects and targets, with the system remaining open in all directions and substantial potential at depth.

These results demonstrate thick intercepts and good grades that remain open in all directions.
Multiple Prospects and High-Grade Targets
Yidby hosts eight prospects and targets within its 133 sq km landholding. Key areas include:
- Fender Prospect, where drilling has confirmed thick gold zones, associated with a folded greenstone.
- Marshal Prospect where hole YBRC059 intersected a wide gold mineralised zone,.
- Cashen’s Find, which contains historic workings.
- Other targets such as Delaney Well, Gallien-Kruger, Mesa Boogie and the Money Anomaly indicate structural and geophysical signatures associated with sulphides and gravity highs.
Metallurgical Test Work Confirms Excellent Recoveries
Recent metallurgical leach test work delivered ‘outstanding’ gold recoveries. Gravity recovery reached up to 67%, while total leach extraction returned recoveries as high as 99.6% with very low reagent consumption. The ore is non-refractory with low sulphur and minimal deleterious elements, supporting the potential for a clean and efficient processing operation.

The continued success of drilling, geological interpretation and metallurgical performance reinforces the potential of Surefire Resources’ Yidby Gold Project. With mineralisation open in all directions and multiple high-priority prospects across a large landholding, the project remains positioned for further growth as exploration progresses.
