Highlights
- Reverse circulation drilling at the Yidby Gold Project returned a broad mineralised interval of 108 metres at 0.61 g/t gold, including several higher-grade sections.
- Electromagnetic surveys at the Copper Hill Project identified multiple bedrock conductors.
- The identified conductors are interpreted as potential copper sulphide mineralisation targets for planned drilling programs.
- The Victory Bore Critical Minerals Project continues to be evaluated, with a Mineral Resource Estimate of 6 million tonnes and a maiden probable ore reserve of 93.1 million tonnes reported under the JORC Code.
An exploration update from Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN) has outlined developments across its portfolio of projects in Western Australia for the six months to 31 December 2025. Activities during the period included drilling at the Yidby Gold Project, geophysical surveys at the Copper Hill Project, and ongoing evaluation of the Victory Bore Critical Minerals Project.
Yidby Gold Project Drilling Expands Mineralised Zones
Exploration at the Yidby Gold Project, located in Western Australia’s Mid-West region, produced several notable drilling results during the reporting period. The project includes four granted exploration licences and covers three prospects with substantial gold mineralisation.
Final assay results from the September 2025 reverse circulation drilling program highlighted the widest mineralised interval identified at the project to date.
Drill hole YBRC136 intersected 108m at 0.61 g/t gold from 71m, which included higher-grade intervals such as 35m at 1.35 g/t gold, 1m at 15.83 g/t gold, and 2m at 10.72 g/t gold, along with a deeper intercept of 6m at 4.29 g/t gold. A nearby hole, YBRC137, returned 12m at 1.01 g/t gold, including 4m at 1.62 g/t gold.
Geological modelling indicated that the mineralised envelope has a north-westerly plunge and remains open along strike and at depth. These findings have generated several priority targets for follow-up drilling scheduled for the March 2026 quarter.
Earlier drilling results released in September 2025 also reported wide mineralised zones, supporting the interpretation that gold mineralisation continues over notable strike lengths across the project area.
Copper Hill Surveys Identify Drill Targets
Located roughly 3km from the Yidby Gold Project, the Copper Hill Project advanced through geophysical work aimed at refining exploration targets for base metals.
Electromagnetic and geological surveys completed during the period identified several high-priority bedrock conductors. These conductors are interpreted as potential copper sulphide mineralisation associated with a volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) geological setting.
The identified conductors will be evaluated through planned drilling programs designed to test targets along strike and at depth. The exploration program aims to determine the potential for mineralisation of these conductors.
Victory Bore Critical Minerals Project Evaluation Continues
While no drilling occurred at the Victory Bore Project during the reporting period, the company continues to assess development pathways for the asset, located about 530km north of Perth.
The project’s Mineral Resource Estimate totals 464.6 million tonnes grading 0.30% V2O5, 5.12% TiO2, and 17.7% Fe, reported under the JORC Code (2012). In addition, a maiden probable ore reserve of 93.1 million tonnes grading 0.35% V2O5, 5.2% TiO2, and 19.8% Fe has been established.
Leadership Appointment
In February 2026, the company appointed Dr Andrew Whitehead as Chief Executive Officer. He has more than 15 years of experience across ASX-listed and private resource companies, working across commodities including iron ore, gold and critical minerals.
Across the six-month reporting period to December 2025, Surefire Resources progressed exploration and evaluation activities across its Western Australian portfolio. Drilling at the Yidby Gold Project expanded known mineralised zones, while geophysical surveys at Copper Hill outlined new drilling targets for base metals.
