Revolver Resources Holdings Limited (ASX:RRR) has announced a significant development at its Osprey Copper project in northwest Queensland. According to the company, recent exploration results suggest the potential for a globally significant discovery at the site.
A comprehensive structural and stratigraphic analysis of the Osprey project area has been completed, identifying several high-priority targets with substantial evidence supporting the potential for large-scale Mt Isa-style epigenetic copper mineralisation.
Reflecting on the development, Revolver’s Managing Director, Pat Williams, commented:
“This recently completed work has been a major knowledge advancement on the Osprey geology and Mt Isa Style copper prospectivity. Osprey is demonstrating high potential to be a genuine global scale discovery. Across the broader Osprey Project, exploration programs to date have clearly identified permissive source rocks, structure, with evidence of large-scale hydrothermal copper-bearing fluids, sedimentary faults and traps and permissive host rocks – all the elements required to host a significant Mt-Isa Style copper deposit. This latest installment of our disciplined systematic work program has now guided us towards areas where all these elements occur in proximity, to our diamond drill campaign leading us toward an exciting Tier-1 copper discovery”.
He noted that by leveraging well-established geological insights alongside Mira Geosciences' independent AI-driven approach, Revolver is now planning the next phases of exploration. These efforts will focus on developing drill-ready targets in preparation for the upcoming field season.
14 High-Priority Zones Identified for Mt Isa-Style Copper at Osprey
Revolver has completed an extensive structural and stratigraphic analysis of the Osprey project area using data from gravity surveys, IP (Induced Polarisation), and EM (Electromagnetic) methods.
The comprehensive data set has provided valuable multi-factor criteria, leading to a revised targeting exercise across the Osprey tenure. As a result, 14 high-priority zones have been identified as strong candidates for Mt Isa-style epigenetic copper mineralisation.
AI Insights to Boost Precision in Osprey Project Exploration
To further refine these findings, Artificial Intelligence (AI) will now be employed to update the targeting criteria and develop an updated Mineral Prospectivity Index (MPI).
Planning is also underway for a ground-based geophysical work program scheduled for Q4 2024. This program will test the high-priority targets identified through geological interpretation and AI modelling.
The primary objective is to define direct drill targets in the most prospective geological areas, ensuring that the exploration efforts are directed on the sites with the highest potential for copper mineralisation.
The stock price of RRR was AU$0.049 at the time of writing on 07 August 2024.
