Platina Resources Limited (ASX:PGM) has announced the appointment of Dr Paul Polito as the company’s new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective from 20 July 2026. The appointment comes as the company advances its focus on gold-focused tenements in Western Australia.

Experienced Exploration Executive to Lead Platina

Dr Paul Polito, a highly experienced exploration leader and geologist, will assume the role of Managing Director and CEO in July 2026, bringing decades of experience in exploration and geoscience, mine development, mine geology and project evaluation.

His previous positions include chief geoscience and exploration leadership roles with IGO Limited and Anglo American Exploration.

He holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Geology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Geochemistry. Dr Polito also served as a post-doctoral Research Fellow at Queen’s University in Canada.

Industry and Academic Credentials Highlighted

In addition to his executive experience, Dr Polito has authored more than 30 technical papers.

He is also a member of several industry organisations, including the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, the Society of Economic Geologists, the Geological Society of Australia, and the Society for Geology Applied to Ore Deposits.

The company noted that Dr Polito is based in Perth, aligning with Platina’s operational focus on its Western Australian exploration portfolio.

Board Outlines Leadership Transition

Platina Chair Brian Moller said the Board welcomed Dr Polito’s appointment and looked forward to working with him as the company progresses its operational and commercial objectives.

Meanwhile, current Managing Director and CEO Corey Nolan will step down from the Board but remain in the CEO role until Dr Polito officially commences in July.

PGM shares were trading at AUD 0.023 per share at the time of writing on 27 May 2026.
