Highlights
- Platina has commenced a 4,500m Phase 2 aircore drilling program at Target 2 within the Mt McKenna Project.
- More than 20,000m of aircore and RC drilling is planned across three Laverton Gold District projects in 2026.
- Ground gravity, aeromagnetic and cultural heritage surveys have been completed to support further drilling in March.
Platina Resources Limited (ASX:PGM) is progressing systematic work at its Mt McKenna Gold Project in Western Australia’s Laverton district, building on earlier results. The company has commenced Phase 2 aircore drilling at the project. The 4,500m campaign forms part of a broader 2026 drilling campaign planned across multiple projects within the Laverton Gold District.
Post the company’s Phase 2 drilling update, its share price jumped 10% to AUD 0.033 midday on 27 February 2026.

Phase 2 Drilling Targets 1.5km Mineralised Structure
Focused on Target 2, this 10-day drilling initiative centres on one of five high-potential zones stretching across more than 20km of promising greenstone stratigraphy within the Mt McKenna project. This specific program was engineered to provide infill for existing drill lines while simultaneously testing the along-strike continuations of a 1,500m mineralised structure that was initially discovered during the Phase 1 aircore campaign concluded in December 2025. Furthermore, the follow-up operations will include an assessment of arsenic anomalies identified in December 2025 program.
District-Scale Exploration Program Planned for 2026
Platina has outlined plans for more than 20,000m of combined aircore and reverse circulation (RC) drilling during 2026. The drilling will span the company’s Mt McKenna, Sunrise Bore and Mt Morgans South projects, all located within Western Australia’s Laverton Gold District.
Geophysical Surveys Completed to Refine Targets
A ground gravity survey has been completed across Targets 3, 4 and 5, while an aeromagnetic survey was finalised at Target 1.
Data from these programs will be incorporated into the company’s geological model to refine existing drill targets and identify additional opportunities.
A cultural heritage survey across Targets 3, 4 and 5 has also been completed, clearing the way for a Phase 3 aircore drilling program scheduled to begin in late March.
The commencement of Phase 2 drilling at Mt McKenna marks the next stage of Platina’s exploration activities in the Laverton district. With additional drilling, geophysical surveys and heritage clearances completed, the company is preparing for continued exploration across multiple targets in 2026.
