King River Resources (ASX:KRR) Identifies New IOCG Target Corridor at Kuiper Project

3 min read | November 19, 2025 01:33 PM AEDT | By Sonal Goyal

Highlights

  • KRR has completed its 2025 RC drilling program at Kuiper.
  • Six drill holes totalling 2,050m intersected fault structures, iron alteration zones and hydrothermal ironstones.
  • Geological observations have outlined potential for a regional IOCG-style corridor within EL31619.
  • Five holes drilled at Kuiper West and one at Kuiper East targeted gravity and magnetic anomalies.
  • Ongoing analysis and additional multi-element testing is planned.

King River Resources Ltd (ASX:KRR) has released an update on its 2025 exploration activities, including results from its latest reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Kuiper Project. While the drilling did not return significant gold assay results, the campaign revealed geological features that reinforce the broader exploration potential within the company’s Tennant Creek project areas.

Drilling Program Overview and Initial Findings

The 2025 RC drilling program at Kuiper comprised six holes for a total of 2,050m. The program targeted coincident gravity and magnetic anomalies, alongside ionic leach soil anomalies.

Although assay results did not reveal significant gold mineralisation, drilling intersected multiple fault structures, iron alteration zones and several hydrothermal ironstones. The presence of hydrothermal ironstones at a considerable distance from Tennant Creek suggests the potential for a regional IOCG-style target corridor within exploration licence EL31619. Several high-priority geophysical targets identified within this corridor are now considered worthy of further assessment.

Geological Context and Historical Support

The Kuiper targets lie at the northern end of EL31619, located within a magnetic trend extending to the northwest. Historical RAB drilling approximately 10 km north of Kuiper encountered shallow Cambrian cover of 10–15m above Warramunga Formation units within the same magnetic trend. These earlier results further support the geological prospectivity of the Kuiper area.

Kuiper West Drilling Results

Five holes were drilled at Kuiper West to test various positions along the main gravity-magnetic trend, which appears to follow a northwest-oriented fold structure wrapping around a fold hinge. Drilling activities:

  • Confirmed Proterozoic Warramunga-equivalent units beneath 5–70m of Cambrian cover.
  • Identified hydrothermal ironstones in the fold hinge area in hole TTRC198.
  • Revealed several major structural and fault zones.
  • Encountered a granitic contact within the fold centre.
  • Identified felsic volcanic and sedimentary host sequences with similarities to those in the Rover Field.

Furthermore, certain structures and veining within granitic units warrant further analysis for rare earth element (REE) and lithium mineralisation. The samples will be selected for multi-element testing.

Kuiper East Drilling Results

A single hole, TTRC199, was drilled to test the Kuiper East target, a coincident gravity and magnetic anomaly located roughly 10km east of Kuiper West. Drilling intersected Proterozoic foliated mafic units beneath 60m of Cambrian cover, likely explaining the magnetic and coincident gravity anomaly. Two major fault structures were also encountered, though assays returned no significant results.

Next Steps in Exploration

The company is conducting a detailed review of geophysical, soil and drilling datasets collected from 2023 to 2025. The work is expected to improve the company’s understanding of multiple IOCG targets across its Tennant Creek holdings. Assay results from ionic leach soil sampling at EL31623, BIF Hill East and Langrenus remain pending.

KRR shares were trading at AUD 0.013 per share at the time of writing on 19 November 2025.
